THE FOUNDATION OF SEHSCDS

HISTORICAL FACT No.1 :-

South East Herts. Scottish Country Dance Society was founded in 1958.

HISTORICAL FACTS No.2 :-

SEHSCDS Vice-Presidents

From a Newsreel Quiz, the following facts apply to the Society's
Vice-Presidents:-

Sheila HarrisThe only Vice-President to have been SEHSCDS Secretary.
Nigel PollardServed 3 times as SEHSCDS Treasurer.
Peter DayFirst Chairman of SEHSCDS (1957)
Molly WhiteSpent more years on SEHSCDS Committee than anyone else.
Peter DixonHeld a number of successful dances in support of the WWF & RSPB.
Jean WalkerConsidered teaching Scottish Country Dancing, 'her mission to the English'.
Marian MeadsSpent years trying to improve dancers footwork and producing Newsreel.
Donald LiggattWas a Society Teacher in the early years and devised dances including 'Hertford Castle'.
Keith HammondHas twice been SEHSCDS Chairman and once Society President.
Sybil HammondHas served for a total of 12 years on committee and has been very involved with teaching and demonstrations.
Bernard Rangeley Has been Chairman and President and also greatly involved with the Thistle Highland Dancers.
David KirbyEncouraged the Society to be involved in the Hertford County Day and then with Beating Retreat events.
